Meet Rachel
“The day I met Rachel, it changed my life.”

Children’s Occupational Therapist

I am Rachel, and I am one of the Now, Next & Then Occupational Therapists. I’m an enthusiastic, passionate and energetic Children’s Occupational Therapist who still gets excited about going to work after over twenty years in the field. I have always wanted to work with children, so I love what I do.
As a Children’s Occupational Therapist, I am playful and fun, and I genuinely strive to offer children - and their families and carers - the best that I can. I share the passion that runs through the NNT team for wanting what is best for each young person I am lucky to work with, and my motivation is always entirely focused on the child, their needs and aspirations. I enjoy getting to know the young people I work with, and it is my privilege to help them to work towards achieving their goals. I also love creating tailor-made resources to support progress.
“Rachel has the most incredible ability to be creative, both in her approach to children but also with any interventions, activities and with the OT advice she provides.”

One of my career highlights was becoming a published author in 2017 (a huge personal ambition). My book ‘The Stepping Stones Curriculum’ provides programmes of graded activities to help children to achieve success in specific gross motor skills, such as ball skills and bike riding. The book was wholly inspired by the work I do with young people and provides a resource for parents and schools alike. It follows that I have a particular interest in supporting children to overcome their motor coordination challenges.
I also enjoy being an associate lecturer for the University of West England, lecturing on the ‘Physical Challenges’ module of their Occupational Therapy degree programme.
I live with my husband, children and Bobby the dog. We love spending time together and also with our extended family. Life is busy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Rachel always takes the time to listen and offer advice. We are so lucky to know her.”
